Nathan Tolbert's brawler starring heroes from other NES homebrew games, played like the PC fan game Super Mario War.

You win mainly by jumping on other fighters' heads. Item blocks give powers such as fire breath, a paper aeroplane, a Robo-Ninja slam, a star that swaps everyone's positions and a clock that freezes opponents. Modes include Most Kills, Survival, Chicken and King of the Hill, on arenas themed on homebrew games. This 2025 edition features Capt. Roast from Super Bat Puncher.

How to play

Controls: A jumps, B dashes and uses items, Down plus A drops through platforms.

Facts

Nathan Tolbert (gauauu, Bite the Chili Productions) made the original for the 2018 NESdev Competition and first posted it on the NESdev forums in October 2018.
The fighters come from other NES homebrew games, added with their creators' permission, among them Nomolos, Nova, Lala, Robo-Ninja, a Micro Mage and Donny from Haunted: Halloween '86. Some are based on the author's three children.
An Evercade edition on the Indie Heroes Collection 1 cartridge added characters from other games on that cartridge.
