Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Playkla (playkla.com) collects when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. It is written for visitors from the European Union and the United States, and it applies to visitors from anywhere else as well.
Who is responsible
The website playkla.com is run by the Playkla project. For any question about this policy or your data, write to support@playkla.com. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Playkla is the controller of the personal data described here.
The short version
- You can play without an account. We do not ask for your name or email to play.
- Your game saves stay in your own browser.
- We count page views to build site statistics and the monthly ranking. These statistics do not identify you.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, we do not show personalized ads, and we do not use third-party trackers or analytics services.
Information we collect
Server logs
Like every website, our server records technical information about each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser’s user agent and the referring page. These logs are kept by our hosting provider and are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors.
Site statistics
We use our own statistics tool, which runs on our server. When you open a page, it records a page view together with general information: browser, operating system and device type (from your browser’s user agent), browser language, the website you came from and your country. The statistics are stored as daily totals and do not include your IP address or anything that identifies you. To avoid counting automated traffic and repeated visits, the tool may keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address for a few hours, after which it is deleted.
Cookies
The statistics tool sets one cookie, counterkla_visits, that remembers which pages were already counted during your visit, so a page you reload is not counted twice. It contains a random visit ID and the IDs of the pages you viewed, it is not used for advertising or to follow you on other sites, and it expires when the counting period ends (up to 24 hours). To check whether your browser accepts cookies, the tool also sets a test cookie, counterkla_probe, and deletes it immediately. We do not use advertising or third-party cookies.
Storage in your browser
The game player stores some data only on your device, in your browser’s local storage and IndexedDB: your game saves, the version of a game you chose last time, and player settings such as volume and controls. This data never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Report form
If you use the report form, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, the company or rights holder you represent, the pages concerned and the details of your request. We use this information only to review and answer your report.
Why we use your information (legal bases)
- Server logs, security and site statistics: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and understanding which pages are used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- Report form: our legitimate interest in handling copyright and content requests, and where it applies, our legal obligation to respond to them (GDPR Article 6(1)(c) and (f)).
How long we keep it
- Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider, after which they are deleted.
- Hashed IP addresses used by the statistics tool: a few hours.
- The visit cookie: up to 24 hours.
- Page view statistics: kept as anonymous totals.
- Report form messages: as long as needed to handle the request and keep a record of it, and no longer than three years.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone for their own purposes. The site is hosted by Hosting.xyz (XYZ LTD), which stores our website and its server logs on our behalf. According to its own policy, the provider may process data on servers in the United States, the European Union, Ukraine and other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by appropriate safeguards required by law. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your rights in the European Union
If the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time. To use any of these rights, write to support@playkla.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
Your rights in the United States
Depending on your state of residence, for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. Because we do not track you across other websites, we do not respond differently to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. To make a request, write to support@playkla.com.
Children
Playkla does not require any personal information to play, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the report form, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, for example by adding advertising, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
