A Guitar Hero demake for the standard NES pad: press the matching direction or button as each note reaches the line.

The songs are chiptune versions of rock and pop hits, including Sweet Child o' Mine, The Way You Make Me Feel, Countdown to Extinction and Burning Love. It is very hard: after a missed note the guitar drops out until you hit the next one. A listen mode plays a song and shows its notes without you playing.

Facts

  • Kent Hansen and Andreas Pedersen released it in 2009 as an NES homage to Guitar Hero, with a logo modelled on the Guitar Hero logo. A sequel, D+Pad Hero 2, followed in 2010.
  • 1UP.com listed it among homebrew games worth playing. Wired's Chris Kohler found the learning curve steep.
